SCH 85 is silicone based hydrophobic powder, a kind of ternary fine particles, which is composed of powder carrier, colloidal coating material and organic silicon active component which is easy to dry and disperse. The colloidal coating material can keep the active ingredients stable in the powder and release timely after adding water. This product is used in all kinds of base materials that need to prevent liquid water penetration, especially in cement-based dry powder materials, to improve the hydrophobicity and water resistance of the materials themselves. 

SCH 85 can increase the hydrophobic effect of cementitious materials, significantly reduce the water absorption for mortar, and specifically mitigate the efflorescence problem. The recommended dosage of SCH 85 in mortar is 0.2~1% of total, which will not influence the compressive strength.
