MB 105 is the high-purity montmorillonite clay by purification and nano modification. It is off-white or light yellow powder. MB 105 is non-toxic, no flavor and soft touch feeling. It has excellent expansibility, colloidal dispersion, suspension, thickening and thixotropy in water. It can be well used as anti-sedimentation agent, latex stabilizer and rheology aid for water-based system. The product also has good adsorption, ion-exchange, non migration and adhesion, and has a wide range of applications in water dispersion system.

The main chemical ingredients of MB 105 is SiO₂ and Al₂O₃. It consists of two silica tetrahedrons sandwiched by one aluminum oxide octahedron to form a single lamellar layer, which is stacked to form montmorillonite particles.The single sheet thickness is only 0.96nm, which belongs to one-dimensional nano-inorganic silicate materials. Montmorillonite sheet is electro-negative, and there are exchangeable ions between sheets. Different ion exchange and modification treatments can be carried out to change the polarity of montmorillonite sheet.The inorganic silicate sheet structure of MB 105 has good thermal stability, which is applied in the field of polymer materials. After fully dispersed, the montmorillonite sheet has good flame retardant and barrier properties.
